With over a decade of experience in marketing, Nina Gancheva created the digital marketing agency BuzzMaker as a natural continuation of her experience and expertise. What is the most important thing that brands have to know and do in order to be recognisable in the digital world?

Being recognisable is increasingly something more than just being present in social media or having an appealing visual style. The digital world requires a strategic mix of long-term building of value through content, storytelling, and engagement. Honesty and transparency are also key - in a world of constant communication consumers quickly recognise inconsistencies. Brands have to be "human" - to be fluent in the language of their audience, to demonstrate understanding and engagement with its needs and values.

We often tell our partners: not only your message is important, what also matters is how people will feel when they hear it. Win the trust of consumers first, then their attention will follow.

What is the most important step that you make when working with a client in order to provide a personalised service?

Everything starts with listening carefully. Every client has their individual needs, story and goals, and our role is first to understand them and then to turn them into a working strategy. We, at BuzzMaker, believe that there is no universal recipe for success. This is why we make an in depth analysis of the brand, the audience and the market to find where its true power lies and what actually makes it different from its competitors.

Our clients know that we are not mere executors. First and foremost we are their consultants and partners in the process through transparent and result-oriented partnership.

Flexibility is another important step. We are aware that every brand has its own specifics and goals, this is why we approach every project individually. We do not use cookie-cutter offers - every solution that we prepare fits the particular needs of the client and the market on which they operate. This allows us to apply strategies that really work and results that are not just applicable, but sustainable in the long run.

What are the specifics of your services when you work for large and established brands?

With established brands we often work on building upon and maintaining the connection with their loyal audience. A particular challenge here is to suggest a new look on their work, without affecting their established identity.

Many people believe that a brand with an established reputation does not need to advertise. In reality, the more it develops, the more opportunities for growth appear. True success comes with the understanding that progress is a continuous process that requires adaptation, innovation, and readiness to discover new opportunities.

Big businesses often work in complex structures. Our role is to bring order in what seems like chaos by structuring the marketing processes and helping the teams to achieve a unified vision and consistency in the communication. They are aware that we can make their work not just effective, but also easy by funneling the shared efforts into a single direction.

What is your approach when your client is a small or little known brand?

For us the true challenge and opportunity is to develop a brand from scratch - to create not just a strategy, but also an identity on a blank page that gives us more freedom to generate ideas.

Work with starting brands requires creativity, vision and strategic precision. The satisfaction when this business begins to stand out, gain an audience and develop cannot be compared to anything. For us, this is the most interesting part of our work - to be the engine that sets in motion something with the potential to become big and competitive.

Where do you find the inspiration to offer a fresh approach towards clients of so different profiles and characters?

The people behind the brands are our inspiration - the founders’ striving and efforts motivate us. To see how their ideas come to life and become successful is the biggest satisfaction in our work.

Another everyday source of inspiration is our team - the creativity, the ideas and the approaches that everyone brings in themselves. If we compare it to a jigsaw puzzle, each piece plays a role. Without it, the picture would be unfinished. At BuzzMaker I encourage a culture of openness and exchange of ideas because I believe that true creativity gets born when different points of view are combined.

We are also inspired by the constant changes in the digital world - technologies, trends, new platforms. These challenges make us to remain adaptive and to seek new, effective ways to approach our work.
