AI is evolving at an incredible speed. What are the main trends in the field today?

AI develops so quickly that it sometimes feels like we live in a sci-fi movie. One of the main trends is generative AI, which allows machines to create texts, images, and music nearly indistinguishable from human creations. This opens up new possibilities in creative industries and marketing. Another important trend is the integration of AI into everyday devices and services, from smart assistants in our homes to applications that predict our needs before we even realize them. We see significant progress in the field of autonomous vehicles and robotics. But with that comes challenges. AI ethics and transparency are becoming increasingly important as society expects technology to be responsible and fair. Many companies now invest in making AI more explainable and accessible. This makes the social debate quite fascinating.

How can a future-oriented business make the most from AI?

Some companies use AI tools and services and others, like Soft2RUN, develop and produce AI services and tools. Businesses using AI in their daily operations should be aware of the limitations and tremendous advantages of this highly effective tool. Understanding the essence and principles of these models is key to maximize benefits, and companies like Soft2RUN can assist with that. There's no need for total AI integration in all aspects of a company's operations. Every AI implementation decision should be made rationally and with business value in mind.

Why did Soft2RUN decide to develop in this field?

Soft2RUN realized the potential and specialized in ML & AI technologies as early as 2017. We knew this moment would come, and we were preparing for it. From today's perspective, we are riding the wave of technology, but it's been a long process for us, mainly due to the knowledge and experience of the team. Today, it's evident that AI is a transformational force changing the way the world operates. I think we're ready to offer our clients innovative solutions that can give them a competitive advantage.

What are the most exciting AI services and products offered by Soft2RUN?

AI is an expansive field with countless services built upon it. Our team focuses primarily on large language models (LLMs) and computer vision.

One of our most exciting products is an AI voice bot that helps customers of insurance companies to register their claims on the phone. This saves enormous costs for customers from waiting in line and for insurers to process and validate the information.

Our smart shopping cart is a computer vision-based product that combines customer convenience and paying via a smart device with the security of stores by minimizing theft and complying the process with the law of the country.

In the field of process mining, we are developing a tool that shortens the access to such analysis and solutions combined with the use of an AI bot. This will add real value to the quality of our clients' processes and will increase their profits.

What motivated you, as a data science expert, to choose Soft2RUN and develop within the company?

At Soft2RUN, we are good partners. We decided to build a DS and AI team together and it has been my cause ever since. I think these are slightly different relationships than typical employer-employee ones. I'm confident that this perspective is shared by every colleague on the team. The relationships are clearly structured, emphasizing openness, accessibility, and continuous critical evaluation of the work. Every team member plays an active role in the creative process and shows full dedication. Witnessing their work instills a deep sense of purpose, which is highly motivating.

Our mission to contribute to the development of young talent is a priority, so collaboration with academic institutions is a natural next step. I would be delighted if a process mining program is launched in partnership with a Bulgarian university.
