Currently the school has almost 600 students, aged 4 to 19, from over 50 countries and offers a multi-sourced curriculum, based on American, British, and international educational best practices.

The mission of the Anglo-American School is to engage, support and prepare each student for today and tomorrow. AAS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is an authorized International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) World School.

The harmonic connection between children's intellectual, emotional, and physical development is one of the cornerstones of Waldorf education. Bulgarian children have the opportunity to reap all of its benefits at the Waldorf School Professor Nikolay Raynov. Established in 2011, it is licensed by the Union of Free Waldorf Schools in Germany and is included in the List of Innovative Schools in Bulgaria. BUSY has 20 years of educational experience through its education centres, nurseries and kindergartens; this year it opened a primary school as well. It welcomed its students on 15 September and follows BUSY's core philosophy: a community engaged in a family environment that supports children in their growth and gives them an opportunity to get what is best for them.

Its founder, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalia Futekova, is also Vice Chair of the Bulgarian Association of In- formation Technologies (BAIT). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalia Futekova has over 20 years of managerial ex- perience in the development, implementation, and management of ERP business software.

Can you elaborate on the primary focus of ERP Academy's educational offerings?

Ballet is one of the best ways to teach our children self-discipline, coordinated movement, feel of beauty, teamwork skills. The ballet school of prima Masha Ilieva is the place where children and adults alike immerse themselves in the magical world of dance.

What inspired you to make ballet a way of life?

The business environment is changing so rapidly that every manager and employee struggles to remain adequate. SBC School of Business Competences provides learning programs designed to teach crucial skills – both general ones such as leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation, and tailored courses in a number of practical fields. For over a decade now, Germani has been opening a wide window to the German-speaking world by offering high-quality education and care for children aged from one year and six months old to over six years old.

This year’s festival was a grand spectacle of cultural diversity, featuring a magnificent array of performances, traditional music, and cuisine, representing over 40 nations.

Students of 43 nationalities from 4 continents study at BSS. On June 8, 2024, the school is organizing an International Festival on its campus, where representatives of all nationalities are invited to share their characteristic food, customs, souvenirs, songs, dances and whatever else they want to celebrate with other members of the international community in Sofia.

Traditional education models put children into a passive role, expecting from them to obey rules they often do not understand and rebel against. Democratic Education is a private school that challenges this idea.

Its development follows a clearly defined mission - to create an educational environment that empowers students to become confident and motivated individuals who pursue their goals. The school's educational philosophy envisions the high-school as a base camp in personal growth of each young person.

In the school year of 2024-2025, Educational Technologies Private Vocational High-School will accept students in 8th grade in three programmes: Foreign Languages, Entrepreneurship and Software and Hardware Sciences with Graphic Design.

This is the belief of Nevena Basarova-Dicheva, founder and education leader at Kids Academy, the first school in Bulgaria that teaches good manners.

You pay special attention to teaching good manners. Why?

The honest smile, the emotion that is aware of itself, the good words, the adequate nonverbal communication, the personal style and the outstanding presence: good manners, politeness and emotional intelligence can take you in places where good education and money will not!

The importance of the University of Mining and Geology St Ivan Rilski, or MGU, can hardly be overestimated. Since its foundation in 1953, it has trained specialists in a vital field in the Bulgarian economy – the mineral and raw materials industry. Today, the university is aware that it has another important task: to make everything possible to protect the environment. It is working towards these goals thanks to adequate, modern programmes and curriculum, young faculty and strategic partnerships with private companies and state institutions.

The rector of the University of Telecommunications and Post Professor Miglena Temelkova, PhD, is the new Chairperson of the Council of Rectors of the Universities in Bulgaria. She won the election’s second round with 27 votes, outperforming the other candidate, Professor Dimitar Dimitrov, Rector of the University of National and World Economy, who won 19 votes. 

Impressively, the last time when a woman chaired the organisation was 25 years ago - Professor Yordanka Kuzmanova, the then rector of the Agrarian University in Plovdiv.

Professor Miglena Temelkova, PhD, is one of the visionaries in Bulgarian education today. She has graduated in finances and law, and has trained in leadership at Georgetown University in Washington. When she became the rector of Bulgaria's oldest professional university, the University of Telecommunications and Post, in 2019, she became Bulgaria's youngest woman at such a position. Her active stance and visionary policies were immediately felt in the UTP.

When Dr. Margee Ensign became the 10th President of the American University in Bulgaria, she realized the great responsibility that came with this position. She had rich experience managing outstanding universities in the US and Nigeria and had personal and academic interests in important and urgent topics such as democracy development, improving education, and even using AI in social sciences.

Children nowadays face a challenge that no generation has met before: to grow as seeking, curious and informed individuals in a world in which digital technologies are getting more ubiquitous. One of the best solutions that responsible parents can make in such circumstances is to trust their children in the experienced hands of the professionals at Educational Group Svetlina.
