The Schaffhausen Institute of Technology announced two new educational opportunities for all Bulgarian schoolchildren and university students
Together with the Jacobs University Bremen SIT presents a number of Bachelor and Master programs in Bulgaria, available at their Swiss and German campuses. Meanwhile „SIT Programming School“, the schoolchildren educational program by SIT, will start in Bulgaria this autumn.
New Bachelor and Master programs in the field of Computer sciences
SIT and JUB introduced the enriched Master in Computer Science and Software Engineering (MSc CSSE) program for the upcoming 2022 cohort. It’ll be available in both campuses: Schaffhausen in Switzerland, and Bremen in Germany.
This program provides prominent knowledge as well as practical skills that are at the intersection of quantum computing, intelligent autonomous systems, symbolic artificial intelligence, system security and the latest in software engineering.
Together both institutes develop a wide array of Bachelor and Master programs in the field of Computer science, Health, Diversity. These are of interdisciplinary study programs ranging from the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering to the social sciences and economics. Class sizes are small and for each student a professor acts as a personal mentor and academic advisor. Students are actively involved in research from their first year of study.
Together, SIT and JUB aim to promote a common vision of a rich and comprehensive educational journey that prepares the future digital leaders of tomorrow: the interdisciplinary approach to a wide range of theoretical courses is incremented by a research-centric education and practical skills.
For the MSc CSSE program the team that developed the program is led by Peter Zaspel, Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Jacobs University, and Mauro Pezzè, Program Director at SIT. The master is available to undergraduate students with strong knowledge pertaining to computer science disciplines. The graduates will complete their studies with a master thesis.
The program includes several mandatory courses but allows students to choose electives in three core areas: software engineering, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Students are also free to choose their location in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, or Bremen, Germany.
Full scholarships covering tuition fees, and financial options are available to students.

SIT Programming School for schoolchildren – now in Bulgaria
Starting this autumn, the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology Programming School for schoolchildren will now cover Bulgaria too.
The IT training for school-age children is based on the SIT methodology, which aims to prepare young people not for existing computer professions, but for future specialties in science and technology.
The institute is currently recruiting teachers for the SIT Programming School in Bulgaria. Besides to professional teachers, students and software specialists can also take such role.
SIT Programming School teachers work on a flexible schedule, usually on weekdays from 15:30 to 20:15 and on weekends from 9:15 to 20:00.
For those eager to become teachers in the primary level, covering grades 2-5, no specialized knowledge and skills in the field of programming are required. The desire to work with young children plays a key role here. The intermediate level, which covers youths from 6th to 10th grade, requires experience with programming languages such as Python and C ++. The highest level in the school covers 11th grade students and for these teachers it is crucial to not only have in-depth knowledge of software, but also experience in real-world projects, including project management and work with industrial IT systems.
