A young company, committed to meaningful textile design and social responsibility, ODAYA Home is now bringing new meaning to this word of the past. “We aim to breathe life into Bulgarian traditions in textile craftsmanship and imbue the exquisite, modern home, which is often minimalistic and too uniform, with the feeling of uniqueness, a sense of belonging and comfort. Only textile created by real hands can do that,” says Slavina Damyanova, founder of ODAYA Home.

ODAYA Home seeks and empowers women artisans from all over Bulgaria with best-of-class materials – Egyptian cotton threads, fine high-thread-count cotton sateen, organic linen. Building on the legacy of textile craftsmanship in Bulgaria, ODAYA Home’s heroines create bed sheets, pillowcases, throw blankets all with handcrafted lace: hard-to-find products even in luxury’s home markets France and Italy.

Each ODAYA Home product is unique. It takes more than a month for the lace to be handknit and a full bedlinen set to be handstitched. Handcrafting textile is like handwriting – while the letters (loops) are standard, each hand has its unique style, making the end result one-of-a-kind. In order to allow swift customisation for demanding clients, ODAYA Home has pioneered a lean production process with high lace inventory and custom-cutting at order and it currently takes less than 5 working days for a tailor-made order to be fulfilled. The company ships worldwide.

And for those who may worry about how to best care for such tender-looking textiles, in April ODAYA Home tested its products in textile laboratories in Portugal. It has been confirmed that ODAYA’s handcrafted textile performs best with the usual care – machine wash at 30-40°С, dry and iron just like any other mass-produced textile.

Connoisseurs of quality, beauty and durability were quick to fall for ODAYA Home’s products. For less than a year on the market, the company already has customers who have bought several sets of bed sheets and pillowcases for themselves and as gifts. Currently, the company’s most popular product is the Forever White Luxury Lattice set, an excellent choice for the upcoming wedding season. ODAYA Home also works with interior designers for bespoke handcrafted textiles for the most demanding homes, boutique hotels and villas in Bulgaria and abroad.

The enthusiastic reaction of customers for ODAYA Home’s unique products has inspired the company to broaden its portfolio. In May, it released a kitchen textile collection of tablecloths and aprons of linen and cotton/linen blend decorated, again, with hand-made lace.

Expecting its products to be frequently used as gifts and to ensure the best experience when giving and storing such unique textiles, ODAYA Home’s creative team took extra care when considering the packaging. In April, the brand and luxury packaging designed by the company’s creative director, Elena Gamalova, won the prestigious international award A’ Design Award 2022-2023. A jury of over 300 designers from all over the world voted for ODAYA’s overall packaging design – boxes and accessories. In July, company representatives will receive the award during an official ceremony on Lake Como in Italy.

Still, there is more to ODAYA’s story than authentic craftsmanship and a focus on beauty and uniqueness. All of ODAYA’s products are rich in symbolism as well: each collection recreates a heritage ornament in the handcrafted lace that is charged with powerful messages handed down from generation to generation of women. The Luxury Lattice collection, for example, features the “wrought iron lattice” model used by generations of artisans as a calling for strength, endurance, and perseverance.
