Professional results in implantology, orthodontics, aesthetics
The team of KoDent has one mission – to provide patients with top-quality dental health by use of precise diagnostics, planning and implementation of the most advanced technologies. What are these technologies? We met with some of the professionals at the clinic to learn more. Dr Adile Durakova specialises endodontics, Dr Dobrina Germanova focuses on aesthetic dentistry, and Dr Ivan Korchev is an orthodontist and an implantologist.
What are the advantages of dental microscope in endodontics?
Dr Durakova: Endodontic treatment targets the root canals and is most used in inflammation of the tooth nerve (pulpitis) and of the tissues outside the root canal (periodontitis). Successful endodontic treatment requires the dentist to be precise and focused on the detail – to find all root canals, to clean them properly and to fill them hermetically. The dental microscope allows the dentist to do their job better and more quickly and accurately. It magnifies the work field up to 25 times, and its directed light source allows for precise diagnosis and treatment of the root canals. The integrated camera allows the patient to participate in the treatment process. In order to achieve a lasting and reliable treatment of your dental problem, our team discusses the diagnosis before deciding how to treat your tooth with the latest achievements of dental medicine.
For what patients is bonding and what are its advantages?
Dr Germanova: Bonding is much more sparing for the teeth than ceramic veneers. It can be applied directly on the tooth without the need of filing its surface. Bonding is particularly good for patients with gaps, smaller teeth, whose significant bite defects are not significant. The procedure takes a single visit. If the patient is not satisfied with the result, we can easily correct that because, in contrast to ceramic veneers, bonding can be applied directly on the tooth. It also has excellent aesthetics, with all qualities of a natural tooth.
What is the single-stage surgery practiced at KoDent?
Dr Korchev: Endless visits and waiting are one of the reasons why patients avoid going to the dentist. This is why we, at KoDent, successfully implement the US developed concept of single-stage surgery. Before surgery we perform an
X-ray evaluation of the patient's dental and alveolar status via panoramic X-ray and computer tomography, and also a detailed clinical examination. We prepare an individual treatment plan based on these results. A team of a surgeon, an implantologist, a periodontist and an aesthetic dentist restores the whole oral cavity during a single session that lasts 1-4 hours. With single-stage surgery we successfully place implants, perform periodontal surgery, bone grafting and autotransplantation, sinus lifting and teeth extraction. The procedure is pain-free, does not require hospitalisation and allows returning to normal life on the following day. Single-stage surgery is a revolutionary technology that reduces months of treatment to a single visit that is stress-free and has amazing results.
