For 15 years now, big and small developers, professionals and amateurs in Bulgaria have chosen the polyurethane foams, sealants, adhesives and other products of the Belgian brand Soudal. Hristo Stanimirov, company manager for Bulgaria, tells why.

Soudal has been in Bulgaria for 15 years. What is the brand's greatest achievement on the local market?

The systematic and conscious efforts that made Soudal a leader in Bulgaria in the PU foams and sealants. We went through all stages of development – from slowly getting recognised in the market to winning twice the Superbrands award for a В2В company. If I have to single out one thing, it would be Soudal's impeccable reputation with professionals. It is the result of the dedicated, consistent work of a lot of people. As a family company, Soudal has preserved the family spirit in its subsidiaries. We do not aim at profit at all cost. Instead, we aim to build long-term, honest partnerships.

Which are your most popular products on the Bulgarian market?

When we first stepped on the Bulgarian market, the brand was initially associated mainly with polyurethane assembly foams. Today, our clients know well our other products as well – different sealants, adhesives and PU foams. Soudal also has unique patented products like the hand PU foam for multiple use with Genius adapter. It is a true bestseller.

Quality without compromise is the company's creed. How do you achieve it?

Soudal products come from EU member states and undergo multiple stage quality control. Many are quality certified by respected institutes and agencies. We have never sought to optimise costs by outsourcing production out of Europe. We, at Soudal, aim to offer reasonable prices, impeccable quality, excellent service and direct contact with the clients, with minimal interference of intermediaries and distributors.

The construction industry faces the challenge of becoming "greener". What solutions does Soudal offer?

For Soudal, energy efficiency and reducing harmful emissions is the main engine for achieving the shared sustainability goals. The company constantly seeks innovations that lead to high-quality solutions and unique improvement of its products.

Soudal SMX was the first isocyanides-free foam on the market. This agent irritates the skin in case of contact. We developed solvent-free product ranges and we innovate on the market of water-based adhesives. We have a whole range of solutions for improving energy efficiency in installation of windows and doors.

Which Soudal products do you use at home?

As the owner of a new home, I opted for Soudal products and the handymen quickly saw how good they were. My family and friends became fans years ago. The foam with Genius applicator and the different adhesives and sealants are already in the toolbox of each self-respecting amateur.
