On the territory of Kovach you have the rare opportunity to face the challenge of Eurasian woodcock hunting
Eurasian woodcock is not dubbed "the queen of forest" by coincidence. This mid-size migrating bird inhabits the forests' humid areas and takes off suddenly and without any prior sign of its presence. This makes it a difficult target even for the best hunters. Hunting Eurasian woodcock is allowed from 8 August to 28 February.
Wild boar hunting is another source of high adrenaline and a proof for skill and bravery. With its thick wild forests the Strandzha is the best place in Bulgaria to try your abilities and skills in group or individual boar hinting. Shooting male boars is allowed the year round, and of females and piglets from 1 September to 31 December.
Kovach Hunting Ground is also a good basis from which to explore the cultural and historical heritage of this part of the Strandzha. Nearby are the remains of the Golyamoto Kale, the largest and best preserved late Antiquity fortress in the Bulgarian part of the Strandzha, and the Thracian megaliths at Koshubair locality. Don't miss as well the springs of the Mladezhka River, the locals believe they are sacred.
