What's behind your brand name, "Holiwork"?

As a short-term rental management company, our business model is inspired by the benefits of working from home. As we are building our portfolio of sustainable modern spaces, our mission is to meet the needs of today's business traveller or digital nomad and boost their productivity while on vacation or away from the office. "Holiwork" is a portmanteau word blending holiday and work and representing what we offer.

You're operating in a very crowded industry, what is it that makes your company stand out?

Despite thousands of readily available accommodations on Airbnb and other OTAs, finding the right stay for a business trip or a holiday is still hit-or-miss. High prices, average quality, inconsistent experience, these remain the biggest issues facing the industry today. What we offer to our guests is consistent experience and quality that matches a 5-star hotel, in addition to a professional work environment that makes our spaces unique.

Who are Holiwork Stays' clients?

Although our apartments are available for everyone, they are particularly tailored to cater to the needs of corporate clients, professionals, and digital nomads. A fully equipped dedicated workspace is at the heart of each of our apartments and we put a special emphasis on that during our design process.

You seem to put great emphasis on the need for a dedicated office space. Why?

That's exactly right. Most hotels have altogether removed dedicated workspaces from their rooms to optimize space and cut down costs. However, our experience and the feedback from our business clients show just how essential the office space continues to be for travellers.

Our spaces are designed so that they play with the dichotomy home/office. We want to show people the benefits of having an office space at home, not only in terms of increasing productivity but also in terms of improving the overall aesthetics of the space.

How do you arrive at the right balance between work and leisure?

Our apartments allow one of the guests to do their business in peace while the other enjoys their coffee or tea on the couch. On the one hand, our spaces feature open layout, green spaces, and modern setting that really give that extra sense of comfort while away from home.

On the other hand, our dedicated office spaces are professionally equipped with a comfortable office chair, a professional desk, and a host of professional tools and amenities (superfast Wi-Fi, a printer, office supplies, headphones, peripheral devices, and more) to boost productivity and make you feel like a true professional behind the desk.

How do you decide where to set up the next Holiwork Stays property?

We follow a number of steps when deciding on the right location for expanding the Holiwork Stays property portfolio. We start with market research to see if the location and community need what we offer. The key factor is high business and investment activity in the area, yet cultural heritage and authenticity are also crucial for our success. In much the same way as we design our home-office spaces, the locations where we establish our properties provide a healthy mix of a good business environment and unique atmosphere.
