8 April: St Lazarus Feast
Come to see how young lazarki girls perform the centuries-old rite that celebrates the revival of nature.
9 April: Bringing willow twigs into the church
The amateur folklore group at the local community house will perform the tradition at St Archangel Michael church.
13 April: Colourful Easter
Opening of a workshop for egg painting.
22 April: Chavdar Municipality Festival
Traditionally held at the St Petka locality, the village festival includes blessing by the priest, shared meal and a concert with some of Bulgaria's most popular performers.
23 April – 24 May: Book Month
Since 2019, the initiative of Chavdar Municipality has brought together writers, readers and everyone who loves literature. It starts with the World Book and Copyright Day and concludes with the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture. The programme includes meetings with famed writers, children's workshops, theatre performances and others.
