EG 60: RESIDENTIAL BUILDING WITH ITS OWN SOUL AND CHARM
Construction in modern Sofia is booming, but new boutique residential buildings at key locations are a rarity
It is even harder to design and build such a building in the city's old centre where the plots are small.
EG 60 is exactly such a building.
Located on Hristo and Evlogi Georgievi Boulevard, EG 60 Residential Building is compact, but functional and comfortable. Inspired by Bulgaria's architectural heritage and the neighbourhood's charm, its design pays homage to Sofia's past. The building elegantly combines historical charm with modern aesthetics, technologies and materials to provide the inhabitants a life of elegance and prestige.
EG 60 blends well with the neighbouring apartment blocks. The building has 7 flats (a maisonette and 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom flats), an underground parking and 4 garages. The layouts are functional, the space is rationally used. The floors are 2.90 metres high. The expositions are favourable, and there are a lot of glazed spaces. On the ground floor there is a lobby, along with a maisonette and a 1-bedroom apartment with their own green yards. A small gym was designed for the residents in the underground level, which can be accessed from the boulevard through an English type of light shaft.
The facades are stylish, of masterfully selected materials. The coating is of light natural stone and black sheet metal, the black metal railings are transparent. Above the entrance, as an accent and for additional colour, is designed a vertical green wall that reaches all the way up to the building's flat roof.
