Dr. Sharkova, the innovative Ultherapy treatment has been available in your clinic since February, can you tell us more about it?

Ultherapy is a non-invasive therapy, which reaches the deep layers of the skin and jumpstarts the body’s collagen and elastin production, providing natural-looking results without surgical intervention. Ultherapy is the only non-invasive ultrasound procedure approved by FDA (The Food and Drug Administration in the USA), which lifts the neck, chin, and eyebrows, and softens the lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. Ultherapy uses a powerful ultrasound beam, which reaches the right point of depth in the skin and boosts the synthesis of collagen. It uses ultrasound images so that specialists can see the tissue layers they are treating. This ensures the treatment energy is delivered where it would be most beneficial and safe, reducing to a minimum the risk of complications.

Who is the therapy intended for?

It is for those who are not ready for a surgical facelift. At VDerm Clinic, of course, we offer practically all invasive and non-invasive procedures for stimulating the production of collagen and for face lifting. We usually combine Ultherapy with the collagen-stimulating filler Radiesse to achieve a fantastic result. Depending on the condition of the skin, we combine with other procedures such as Morpheus 8, FaceTite, PicoGenesis FX, Titan Cutera.

How many procedures are needed for a visible effect?

We recommend one or two procedures per year. There is no need for special preparation before the therapy. There is no recovery period as well. There are no contraindications for patients with fillers or botox, but we should choose the best moment. We usually prepare the skin with powerful collagen stimulation and then we add the injection procedures to the therapy schedule.

Dr. Sharkov, how do you make the treatment plans for your patients, what do they start with?

Each plan depends on the condition of the patient and the specific complaints. We make a treatment plan, starting (if possible) with the part of the body that bothers the patient most so that we can eliminate quickly the discomfort it causes. The choice of technique depends on the specific problem. We often work simultaneously – face rejuvenation goes with body shaping.
