The British School of Sofia (BSS) is the first and only school in Bulgaria to follow the British educational model for 12 years
BSS educates students from 2 to 18 years of age and covers the entire course of study from kindergarten to high school. Students graduate with the IB DIPLOMA.
British School of Sofia is open to pupils of all nationalities and currently, they are 46 different nationalities. Bulgarian children study Bulgarian language and literature in accordance with Bulgarian educational requirements, and foreigners – Bulgarian foreign language.
The large international community is attracted by the fact that the main language of communication and teaching is English. All subjects are taught in English and follow a British curriculum. Students receive an international high school diploma and can go on to university in Europe or anywhere else around the world.
The child at BSS grows up in a safe and stimulating environment; they feel calm and secure to create and build skills that they use in life. It gives freedom to their imagination and unleashes its full potential. The educational goal at BSS is aimed at the overall development of the child and their transformation into a thinking person who asks questions both in the classroom and outside of it.
