On 21 November at Sofia Event Center, were officially announced the winners of the one-of-a-kind in size and prestige national competition for interior design Dibla Design Awards 2019, organised for a fourth consecutive year by the platform Dibla. In the heated competition participated projects of impressive quality and level of realisation. They are a strong proof that interior design in Bulgaria is developing sustainably and is determined to win international recognition and stage.
The award ceremony gathered a record number of guests: over 800 representatives of the Bulgarian business elite, journalists from leading media outlets, influential and popular companies, potential investors and clients, interior designers. The attendees had the opportunity to create useful contacts and to share information for their current and future projects. The nominated projects were presented in a specially published luxury album. The winning interiors will be published in the Platform's traditional annual catalogue, The Best of Interior Design 2019.
The unique visual effects, the stylish stage, the professional hosts and the talented contenders are the reason why the event will stay in the history of Bulgarian interior design. With every passing year Dibla Design Awards is getting increasingly anticipated and popular both in Bulgaria and abroad. A telling evidence for the competition's rising quality are the jury members. This year the world-famous Karim Rashid readily accepted Dibla's invitation to be a part of the jury, as did Federico Delrosso, included in the Top 10 Interior Designers Who Have Changed the World list of Boca do Lobo and BestInteriorDesigners.
Guests of honour of the jury were Attila Veress, architect Radina Gesheva, Professor Vasil Zhivkov, Gyuri Kovács, Ilian Milinov, Assistant Professor Orlin Davchev. The international jury of Bulgarian and foreign specialists, practicians and professors gave the award in Apartment category to dontDIY, in Family Home category to Cast Studio, and in Hotel category to Mimi Farkova, architect Borislava Manolova, architect Hristo Tritakov. Winner in Restaurant category is Code Rouge, in Bar & Diner category is KUKADESIGN, in Office/Work Environment category is ARXITEK, and in Store/Exhibition Space is studiopiperov/architect Yulian Piperov. The award for professional profile went to the creators from ATG DESIGN.
The event's culmination was the announcement of Designer of Year 2019. Ina Damyanova won the prestigious recognition thanks to her more than 15-year experience combining the skills of designer with the passion of artist, her overall contribution to Bulgarian design, her various projects and many international awards and nominations.
Dibla Design Awards is one of the events that stay in the memory for long, that inspire and motivate. The national competition provided a stage to the designer community on which its most distinguished representatives can find recognition and receive objective and authoritative evaluation of their work.
