Established in 1992, the school is among the best educational institutions in Bulgaria. It offers a U.S. standards-based educational program from Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) to Grade 12. The Dual Language Program of AEA is delivered through the adjunct Abraham Lincoln School of Sofia which is fully-accredited by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education.
The school is located in a purpose-built campus at the feet of the Lozen Mountain that won the 2015 Building of the Year Award in the category of educational facilities. The campus spreads on 7,400 square meters and has some of the finest school facilities in Bulgaria. Classrooms are designed to motivate and enhance student engagement and to foster communicative interaction between students and teachers. The AEA cafeteria is a specious and well-lit area where both students and teachers have their meals. Each student is provided with freshly cooked on-site food prepared based on the daily health and diet requirements.
