Burgas Free University was established in 1991 and is one of the first private universities in Bulgaria. BSU is modern, innovative and oriented towards students and their professional realisation. The university has significant academical achievements, prestige in Bulgaria and established international status.

Why young people choose BFU?
Over 25,000 students graduated successfully our prestigious university. Applications come from all over Bulgaria and the number of foreign students from countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Ukraine, Nigeria, Slovakia, South Africa, Germany and others is rising. BFU is a private university, but its tuition fees remain unchanged since 2009 and are among the lowest in non-state universities. Between 10% and 20% of full time students receive academic merit scholarships. Students in regular form of education can also use a state-guaranteed low-interest loan.
Tell us more about education in BFU?
BFU offers education in Informatics, Technologies and Computer Sciences, Law, Social and Economy Studies and Humanities. There are BA, MA and PhD programmes in full time, part time and distance form. The centre for students' career and development offers students an opportunity to find job or gain experience in their field of specialisation.
Our most popular programmes are Law, International Economy Relations, Tourism Economy and Marketing, Software Engineering, Computer Systems and Technologies, System Engineering in Industry and Tourism, Electrical Supply and Electrical Equipment, Psychology, Preschool and Primary School Pedagogy. The Centre for Informatics and Technical Sciences offers as well short qualification courses.
What international partnerships do you sustain?
The management of the CITS constantly develops the connection with the business. Students work under the guidance of employees from a particular technology company in real-life conditions. BFU has 55 direct contracts for international cooperation with universities from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, and partners under Erasmus+ programme with 37 EU universities. In international projects in 2018-2019 the BFU partnered with 67 universities from all over the world.
BFU is a young university with future. It has gained international experience, participates actively in international and national programmes and has high quality of education. This is proven by the excellent professional realisation of its alumni.
