Tom Stevenson, the world's expert in champagne, will have a master class dedicated to the iconic pink wines of the Champagne region. He is the author of 42 books and the winner of 33 literature awards. His books are a part of the curriculum of Master of Wine and Master Sommelier, and his Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia has sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.
For the first time, DiVino.Taste will introduce its visitors with the quality system of German wines. The forum will bring you on a wine journey from Georgia, the cradle of winemaking, to Champagne, to emblematic Rioja in Spain and Friuli in Northern Italy, where some of the cult white wines in the world are made. The wine trip will end in Australia, with an adventure in some of this continent's greatest terroirs.
The future of traditional Bulgarian white varieties will be another focus. Nikolay Krastev, one of the young and talented Bulgarian winemakers, will present some of the best examples.
One surprise event will the be master class in... making of cold-pressed olive oil. Anna Petkova, certified olive oil sommelier from the International Culinary Centre and Olive Oil Times Education Lab in New York, will lead you through this incredible experience.
DiVino.Taste 2018 will follow its tradition to promote the art of wine drinking. For the first time in Bulgaria will be present Riedel glasses chosen specifically for Bulgaria's emblematic red varieties: Mavrud, Wide Melnishka Grape and Rubin. The demonstration will include a tasting.
For the professionals, Krasimir Koev, CEO of the Executive Agency on Vine and Wine, will talk on the opportunities for funding and investment via the National Programme for Development of Viticulture and Winemaking Sector in Bulgaria 2018-2023.
Recognising the importance of wine as a tourist product, the Ministry of Tourism will present the Share Bulgaria project for popularisation of 12 winemaking and culinary destinations.
