The Balkans are an ideal place for viticulture – the Mediterranean climate offers excellent conditions with warmth and humidity. The wines from the region deservedly take a spot as some of the best in the world, and the proof of this was the size of the crowd at the wine-tasting held by Montenegro Bulgaria and restaurant Escada to present the largest vineyard on the Balkans – 13 Jul Plantaze, Montenegro.

The focus of the tasting was the Vranac Pro Corde wine from the cousin of the Californian Zinfandel variety, Vranac, which is found almost exclusively in Montenegro. If you've missed out on the wine, music and meal, do not worry – check www.pizzaescada.com for upcoming wine tastings.
