Grand Hotel Sofia celebrated its sixth birthday on 3 June with a spectacular garden party. The atmosphere was dominated by green decoration all around the hotel, bio food and presents for all guests. The 600 guests were entertained by mimes dressed like trees moving under the sounds of nature. The party had a special treat – Bulgaria's Eurovision representative, pop singer Miro, as well as a programme of fire spectacle and fireworks. During the event the hotel crew declared its dedication to becoming eco-friendly through using recycled paper, eco-friendly cleaning products and reducing the usage of plastic.
The birthday marked the beginning of more eco activities and events to come in the future. The general manager of the hotel Zhulieta Serafimova had the honour to cut the cake in front of the hotel crew and the guests. A huge tree made of cold porcelain was the main element of the cake's decoration, again putting the stress on the hotel's green initiative.
