Bulgaria offers great opportunities for conferences, business meetings, private parties with a style

It may be a large international conference, a private talk between prospective partners, a concert, or a wedding – in all cases, if you have an event of this kind on your hands, you will need a lot of things. You will have to find the best premises, considering things as availability, capacity, location and style. Organisation should run smoothly, from coffee breaks and lunches, to equipment and translation.

Bulgaria is rapidly becoming a country where it is easy to organise big or small, public or private event. New convention centres are being opened, old ones are being renovated, and all good hotels offer their own conference and meetings facilities. The profession of the event planner is taking off, and the country is having a decade long strong tradition in quality simultaneous translation.

When choosing the proper venue, a lot of things should be considered – the number of the participants and guests and the programme are crucial for the selection of space. Innovative solutions should also be sought after, for a memorable event.

"Just like in fashion, there are trends in event management, too. In the past few years more and more events break from the standard boundaries of hotel locations and conference rooms," says Kaloyan Todorov, CEO of Special Event Group and Sofia Event Center, one of the most innovative event spaces in Bulgaria. "The organisers aim not only to invite their target group, but to make them to experience something different, to 'be hooked' and crave for more, to come back. Having this tendencies in mind, we created a space which can be completely transformed. One day, Sofia Event Center can be a wild forest, on the following day it can be high tech control room, and on the day after, a Baroque palace ready for a gala dinner. Using technologies and set design we can completely change the design and atmosphere. The years of experience we have in organisation of large scale events helped us to built from the scratch a multifunctional center, where each idea for an event can become a memorable reality."

Good location and parking opportunities are of importance, too. In the case with big conferences and seminars, the lodging for participants is another thing to consider – hotels with conference facilities would sometimes offer preferential rates for conference guests, and best conference centres will have a partnering hotel.

For events spanning more than a day, the entertainment of guests and participants during non-business time should also be thought over. One option is to organise sight-seeing tours. Hotels with conference facilities are good in this respect, as they have swimming pools and spa centres, and if they are out of Sofia, they can give your guests the opportunity to get to know Bulgaria better.
